The first of these is a series of studies evaluating two videos developed by the NSWIOP and the Northern Beaches Child and family Team on the social and emotional development of newborns.
Study One: Evaluation of the video "Getting to know you" as part of antenatal education.

Getting to know you is an 18 minute video designed for parents that explains infant social and emotional development in the first three months of life.
This video is being evaluated in antenatal classes at Mona Vale and Hornsby Hospitals. To date over 130 parents have participated in the study. It is anticipated that this study will be completed by the end of 2004.
Study Two: Evaluation of the video "Getting to know you" as part of postnatal education.

This video is being evaluated in Early Childhood Centres in SESAHS. To date about 20 mothers have been recruited for this study. It is anticipated that this study will be completed at the end of 2005.
Study Three: Evaluation of a new seven session video based intervention for new mothers.

The original 18 minute 'Getting to know you' video was re-edited to produce a video that could form the basis for a seven session psycho-educational program for new mothers.
This video based intervention that will be evaluated in the NSWIOP Clinic in 2005.
