Fellowships

Each year the Institute grants Fellowships in:

  • Child, Adolescent & Family Psychiatry. Successful recipients are required to also undertake the Institute's 2 year Course in Child, Adolescent & Family Psychiatry (MEP001) during their fellowship.

  • Training in Research (open to all disciplines); and

  • Special Training Fellowships in areas such as Psychogeriatrics, Drug & Alcohol, Community Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.

The scheme is competitive and successful applicants receive grants-in-aid for between one and two years.

The fellowship scheme, funded by the NSW Health Department, is administered by the Institute. In addition to receiving training, Fellows in a number of instances, provide an essential clinical service at hospitals and community centres where they are placed.

Fellowships are advertised in August/September and are taken up the following year.
