Fellowships

The Fellowships scheme is administered by the Institute. All Fellowships are funded by the NSW Health Department, with the exception of the Intellectual Disability Mental Health Fellowships which are funded by the Department of Aging, Health and Home Care.

Fellowships are provided to allow training or research in Mental Health in an area of interest to the trainee. In addition to receiving training, Fellows provide an essential clinical service at the hospitals and community centres where they are placed.

The scheme is competitive and successful applicants receive grants-in-aid for between one and two years.

Fellowships are usually advertised in July/August and are taken up the following year.
